What Is Noun - Explained In Simple Words

The Noun;

Hello everybody I am Shamoon and today i have choosed most commmon but importent topic of the grammer. I am a student and I know 

that we learn Noun,Pronoun in the starting of our english grammer books but some boys or girls want to more about it they want to learn deeply 

and you know in our grammer books there are only heading and some definitions so, thats why i have picked it and for you

i will tell you about The Noun in deeply.

So,as you know that ( The Name of the person place or thing is called noun e.g. boy,Sunil,Delhi,pencil,etc.) this is the definition of the 

noun but this is not enough we need to know in a proper way so, let get started!.

* See the coloured words in the following sentences:
1. Jawaharlal Nehru was a great leader.
2. My umbrella is blue.
3. Delhi is a big city.

*Jawaharlal Nehru is the special word for his identity and thats called the name so, in simple words Jawaharlal Nehru is the special name of that person, 
*Umbrella is the name of a thing,
*Delhi is the name of a place or city.

There are many kinds of Noun and we know that there are unlimited kinds inside the grammer. lets talk about the kinds of the noun.

Kinds Of Noun:
1. Proper Noun
2. Common Noun
3. Material Noun
4. Collective Noun
5. Abstract Noun

So, here are only five kinds of Noun which is intresting all the five nouns are importent because we use these for different different things! so, without wasting any time let get started!

First of all we shall learn about the first noun thats called the proper noun. It the first and most importent noun! I hope after 

learning it from my explaination you will definatly give answer to your class teacher.

The Proper Noun:

So, ( The Proper Noun is the name of a particular person,place or thing ) ex. Sunil,Ganga,Delhi etc. 

So, as you can see in the definition the grammer says that name of a particular person or place lets learn it in deeply.

For example - suppose there are a boy and you want to call him then what you will use to call him? 

I know you are thinking that his name so, yes his name okk lets see one more ex. suppose you are going to place by train inside the train somebody 

asks you that where are you going so, what will you say? suppose your are going to Delhi then you will say Delhi, so, 

In simple words Delhi is the name of that particular place now, read the definition again.

I hope you are understanding what i am saying to you. So, now lets move to our next Noun which is Common Noun

Common Noun:

( Common noun is the name common to every person, place or thing of the same class, kind or group ). 

definitly you havent understand because the definition is not good so, to make this good or informative lets see in the following,

so lets see an example to understand it - Suppose your teacher give you a task that call that boy from the class 

now it is confusing for you that there are many boys in the class so, which i should call?....

because the teacher have not told me the name of that boys so, now read the definition again and think, The boys is the name of 
a group or kind!

Material Noun:

( A material Noun is the name given to a "material" or "substance" of which things are made ) ex. Gold, Iron etc. So, the definition 

of material noun tells us that any kind of material or substance which have given the name is called the material noun.

Its very simple so, lets see some examples of it! Ex - suppose your mom told you  that open the fan so, the 'fan' is material noun! gold,iron,table,fan, etc.!..

Collective Noun:

( A collective noun is the name given to a group of persons or thing ) Ex. bunch,army,crowd,class, etc. I think it is the easiest one you can easily learn it okk lets take an example of it!....

The definition tells us that the group of persons or things is called collective noun! in simple words - 

suppose there are only one student so then you cant say him class but if there more students now you can say them class! like, army etc!...

Abstract Noun:

( An abstract noun is the name given to some idea, quality, feeling, or action which we can only think about or feel ) 

Ex. Air, honesty, kindness, noises etc. Now this is very intresting one i love it!

Lets learn it ! suppose a person is giving you money for some bad work but you are not taking the money of him! why? 

because you are a honest person so, that person cant see your honesty but he can feel it ! and you cant buy it from market okk!

So, this is called Abstract Noun i hope you understood it! So, thats for today i hope you learnt something from it now i am giving you a small test please do it in your 'mind'..
